NiCrFe Alloy Welding Wire

ERNiCrFe is a type of nickel-chromium-iron alloy welding wire that can maintain stable performance in harsh environments such as high temperature and corrosion, and is widely used in nuclear power, chemical industry and other fields. The following summarizes the characteristics and typical applications of several common NiCrFe alloy welding wire:

●ERNiCrFe-1: High versatility, high-temperature oxidation and corrosion resistance. Suitable for welding nickel-chromium-iron alloys (such as Inconel 600), dissimilar metals (such as nickel-based alloys and stainless steel), and carbon steel surface hardfacing.

●ERNiCrFe-3: Creep and crack resistance. Suitable for welding creep-resistant joints, welding austenitic/ferritic steels and high-nickel alloys, and welding 9% nickel alloy steels.

●ERNiCrFe-7: High high-temperature strength, oxidation and stress corrosion resistance. Suitable for welding INCONEL 690 alloy, steel hardfacing, and nuclear power equipment (such as steam generators).

●ERNiCrFe-7A: Nuclear-grade material, resistant to high-temperature aqueous media and radiation. Suitable for nuclear power plant core equipment: reactor pressure vessels, steam generators, pressurizers, etc.

●ERNiCrFe-11: Stress corrosion cracking resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance, and carburization/sulfurization resistance. Suitable for welding INCONEL 601 Alloy (Contains Al)

When using this type of welding wire, there are some general operating points that require special attention:

① Pre-weld cleaning: Be sure to thoroughly remove impurities such as oil, moisture, and rust from the base metal groove and the surrounding area.

② Controlling heat input: It is recommended to use a low welding energy input and strictly control the interpass temperature (generally recommended to be below 150°C) to avoid overheating of the weld and coarse grains.

③ Shielding gas: Use high-purity (≥99.99%) argon as the shielding gas.

④ Welding material storage: The welding wire should be stored in a dry environment to prevent moisture.

NiCrFe Alloy Welding Wire:Selection Summary

In general, the choice of ERNiCrFe welding wire ultimately depends on your specific application scenario, base metal material, and the equipment’s service conditions (temperature, media, etc.).

① For extremely harsh environments such as nuclear power plant islands, ERNiCrFe-7A is a proven choice.

② For common dissimilar steel welding or for cladding corrosion-resistant layers on carbon steel, ERNiCrFe-1 and ERNiCrFe-3 are widely used.

③ If welding specific INCONEL alloys (such as 601 and 690) is required, consider ERNiCrFe-11 and ERNiCrFe-7.
